Information on battery and charger
BATTERY AND CHARGER: WHAT YOU WILL NEED
A suitable deep cycle marine battery can be obtained from reputable battery
shops or through the Internet. Please consult with an experienced staff
referring to "deep cycle" battery. The following specifics will
also help.
BATTERIES:
This type of battery can last as long as an hour or more without charging.
A large capacity battery is recommended, as you can use it for many years.
Battery catalogs describe nominal capacity in Ampere x Hours: e.g. 40AH,
80AH, etc.
To calculate hours of use when fully charged, simply divide this figure
by the amperage of your electricity supply. For example, if the amperage
is 16, a 40AH battery will provide 2.5 hours continuous (40AH divided by
16A) before recharging. Hatsuyuki ice shavers can shave one serving of
shaved ice in utmost 15 seconds or so.
There are two types of battery:
A) Sealed and liquid. This does not leak even laid down. It can be charged
between 50 to 100 times, maximum.
B) Non-sealed. A cost effective battery, it can be charged up to approximately
400 hundreds, providing long-term use. Good ventilation - or appropriate
piping is necessary as there is a toxic gas discharges. Also the battery
will leak liquid if laid down.

CHARGERS
A suitable charger is essential. About 12 hours charging time normally
provides full power; we recommend overnight charging.
Please prepare suitable batteries and a charger to your desired specifications,
considering the amount of shaved ice required from your HC8EDC/HF50DC.
